London Design Festival’s Atomic Connection launches at Television Centre
Sep 2, 2024
ShareFrom 16th-22nd September, Television Centre will be home to London Design Festival’s “Atomic Connection,” an interactive and immersive lighting installation. Inspired by Television Centre’s iconic “Atomic Dots,” this installation uses sensors to transform space and colour into a unique form of communication.
In collaboration with Synthetic State, a Dutch innovative technology company, the display will be open to the public in 2 Television Centre Reception and on the Upper Forecourt. The installation aims to demonstrate a future where empathetic technology creates deeper connections between us and the world around us.
While exploring the exhibition, take a moment to relax on Mathilde Wittock’s “Bounce” sustainable seating. Wittock, a Brussels-based designer, has created each piece from birch plywood and upcycled tennis balls. By repurposing an average of 1,220 tennis balls per piece, she has removed an estimated 39.5kg of CO2 emissions from the atmosphere. The blend of design and sustainability between these two creations embodies the perfect “Atomic Connection”.
Join us on 17th September, where Simone Venner of MsHolistic will be hosting a unique FREE breathwork session. Whilst enjoying soothing sounds through silent disco headphones, Simone will guide you through a deeply relaxing 20 minute meditation, helping you reconnect with your inner calm. Sign up to a session here!
Don’t miss out and head over to Television Centre from the 16th – 22nd of September to experience this interactive exhibition.
