Fiona Leahy, the event designer of choice for the fashionable elite, brings her whimsically romantic aesthetic to this year’s Christmas Tree design at Television Centre. The tree lights up to display a stunning creation in Fiona Leahy’s signature style, bedecked in giant red illuminated bows.

From Dita Von Teese’s wedding to a dinner for 350 guests celebrating Dior at the V&A Museum, Fiona Leahy has formed a reputation for her decadent displays and exquisite events for a roster of global fashion brands, royalty and private clients. At the heart of Fiona Leahy’s legendary Tablescaping are her monogrammed bows, which have appeared as unique place settings throughout the world and more recently led to a collaboration with Hand & Lock, London’s oldest embroidery house.

This festive season, Fiona Leahy has turned her masterful eye to the ten-metre-tall showstopper at Television Centre, adorning it with red glossy bows in a spirit of nostalgic glamour. The oversized motifs are a true reflection of Fiona Leahy’s statement style and the addition of LED Neon embellishments creates the most dazzling display. Set against an array of luminous lights, the theatrical dressing pays homage to the timelessness of Old Hollywood and the showbiz legacy of  Television Centre.

Fiona Leahy, Creative Director of the Christmas Tree at Television Centre commented: “I love Christmas and it was a huge honor to be asked to design this Tree at a place that I regularly frequent. For the display at Television Centre, I have taken my love of bows and ribbons to another scale in a celebration of tradition, glamour and visual decadence. Bows represent the anticipation of unwrapping gifts and signify femininity; however they also carry a deeper symbolism and are often used to create awareness and support for others. My vision was to create something visually uplifting, applying the giant red bows as symbols of  victory, support and courage, especially pertinent as we emerge from challenging times.”

The al-fresco terrace at Television Centre has received a seasonal transformation for the winter months ahead. Festively decorated with twinkling neon lights, and painted in sumptuous burgundy hues, the Pergola provides the perfect backdrop for the Christmas Tree.
