This weekend our GM Workforce Development Nathan Volk completed his first full marathon on the Gold Coast. That is 42.2kms! The Gold Coast marathon has been an annual occurrence since 1979, and Nat is the first Veracity team member to complete it.
Nat said, “3 ½ years ago I had never competed in any sort of running event, then I ran the 5km at the Twilight Run at UQ and became hooked. Over the years I have steadily increased the distances I have run and this culminated in running 42.2km Marathon on the Gold Coast.
Crossing the line was a mix of pain and elation, and almost instantly my mind turned to ‘I can do that faster’ so I’m looking to next year and more challenges ahead.”
The whole Veracity team is very proud of Nat’s achievement, and we are all looking forward to participating in our next run as a team, the 2018 Bridge to Brisbane. It’s all part of our “can do” culture.
